South Beach Breakfast wrap question

Its me again I tried a wrap this morning and it was very good. I only ate the inside of it and few bites of the wrap. Wraps fill me up quick so I thought I'd get in more protein by eating the eggs, cheese and meat inside. I am wondering how I could find out how much protein and calories I'm getting from only eating the inside? Is it possible to find out? If not a lot, I wont buy anymore. The entire wrap has 19 grams of protein. Thanks Kay

Hi Kay. I don't know if there's a breakdown anywhere. I usually just estimate....the tortilla is probably about maybe 2g of protein and mabe 50 calories. They're not that big. I mean, I'm not sure of these values, but like I said...I usually just guesstimate. Just an idea! April

I agree with April, its a low % of the protein. Perhaps look up on the internet the value of a tortilla wrap and subtract that.

I do what Tiff says all the time. Go onto fitday.com and find the value of what you DIDN'T eat and subtract it from everything else. It's much easier that way. Dawn

I've tried them too. The inside was pretty good but I really didn't like the wrap at all. I was lazy so I only counted 1/2 the total as I didn't eat the wrap. Probably shorted myself on protien for the day that I really had I probably won't buy them again as I throw most of it away and they were pretty expensive.

Kay, I don't eat the wraps either. With the Chicken Ceasar one, I added up what the other stuff was and just use that (the packages were marked as to how much they weighed, etc.). What is the breakfast one, I haven't seen that? Lisa S.

What's in the breakfast wraps? Wouldn't it be easier to just make your own? I don't eat the wraps...not because of the carb count or anything but because it doesn't sit right in my pouch! Once in awhile, I make breakfast burritos for my two oldest kids to nuke in the morning. I'll make scrambled eggs and wrap them up in a tortilla along with cheese. I put them in a container and pop them in the fridge and for the next couple of days, the kids pop them in the microwave and they have an instant easy breakfast (they can add salsa or whatever). Well...maybe you could make your own. Either that or I have a good low carb sausage muffin recipe somewhere (no muffin, just sausage, cheese and egg) that I can post. Chele

Chele It's a wheat wrap with egg whites, cheese, tomatoes, sausage and bacon inside. It's really yummy. The wraps don't sit well with me either. I was just talking to my mom about making my own wraps. Since I don't eat the wrap, I might as well scramble an egg, add cheese and sausage and call it a day. I just thought I'd try it since they were only $1.97. I'm a sucker for a sale If you find that recipe, please post it. It sounds interesting! I'm always looking for some new ideas. Kay
