Straws

I forgot to ask my surgeon about straws the other day. I looked through all the papers he gave me pre op and cant find any info on them. I have read on the main board that they are not good but some say they are OK. What are your rules on straws?? What does your surgeon say about them? In the beginning I didn't use them but I used a couple today for the first time and nothing happened. I'm able to drink a little faster and more with it. I don't want to continue to use it if I'm causing damage. So tell me what YOU think?? Kay
