 My surgeon told me to not worry about calories and just focus on protein and liquids. Well lately, I have been curious on how many calories I'm getting in. I visited fitday and signed up and it is so cool. My question is.. Once you customize a food item, is there a way to delete it ? I looked but cant find it. It's probably something simple and right in my face. Thanks Kay

Hey Everyone! I wanna get flamed! I eat sugar and I eat horribly! I'm kindof fuzzy on what I should and shouldn't be eating, everyonce in a while I pull out the book and see what stage I should be on but most of the time I just eat what ever the heck I want. In moderation is the key for me. Carbs, Fat Sugar all work for me, the stuff I shouldn't eat stays down but the things I should be eating make me ill. Things have slowly been getting better for me eating wise but I'm not a slave to my doctors orders. I DO eat or drink my protein, atleast 60 grams a day. I do exercise, 2 trainer sessions and 3 cardio sessions a week. I do try and remember my vitamins. All I can say is that we are all human, we made a huge decision to have this surgery and some of us have to do what works for us. It's all experimentation. The doctors have set a guideline of what should work for us. BUT we are all different and even each dr.'s guidelines are different. There isn't really an exact formula of what will work for us as for as losing weight heck if there was we probably wouldn't have needed the surgery, right? It'**** and miss for me, one day I can eat chicken and one day it makes me so sick that i can't eat or drink for 5 or 6 hours. Some people can't process the protein in a form of a shake and some people just can't eat meat anymore. Some doctors allow for a snack and some don't. Heck I wondered how I was gonna do immediately after surgery cause I don't do cottage cheese, tuna or any seafood for that matter. I had to find what worked for me. I was never told how many calories to consume, or how much fat is too much, I just wing it. Okay - i'm done! I just had to add my .02 cents worth! Dana

Micropouch: Basically, while the typical pouch created is roughly 15-20ccs or so, mine is 2ccs (the size of a grape). http://www.weightlosssurgery.com/sapalawood.html Chele

Hi Kay, Its usually at the bottom of the page where it calculates you totals, unless its changed, I haven't used it lately. Like the new picture, I thought someone had stolen your name. Looking good, keep up the good work. **Octavia**

Kay, My Dr. told me not to worry about calories at this point because we are not eating enough to worry about it. 460 calories is not alot... I beleive some have posted.. 500-1000 a day is what they are doing. 14 carbs is low.... on atkins..20 a day was the beginers carbs I would ask your Dr. what he's expecting of you.. JMO. Anna

Hi Kay! Fitday is great, just gotta play with it a bit Have you customized a food and now want it removed from your menu? Click the box and then delete I think.... I don't believe there is a way to remove the item from the list of customized foods though- just an edit button. Haven't heard anything about calories... but I'm to get minimum of 80 grams protein and 64 oz water. I generally get anywhere from 450-1000 cals depending on what I eat. Liquids are all over the chart.

Mine say I am losing to fast so calories are not a concern. I am still trying to eat most things and not be miserable. I never eally thought about it. 4-5 bites here and there and I am ok. I get my protein in by shakes and usually manage to get near 60 oz in fluids...just about..? Calories smaloires

I'll probably get flamed for this but I try to aim for the lowest possible number for carbs. Yesterday I ate only 3. Thing is, we're NOT on the atkins diet, so why eat according to it? Chances are most of were on it at one time preop and failed anyway. My doc doesn't want me counting anything but protein, but I can't have that. I am too concerned with my nutrition now. I generally make it a rule to stay UNDER 500 cals. The only way we loose weight is to burn more cals than we consume. If you increase your cals, your going to have to increase your activity to compensate it. For me, food is just not worth it anymore. I am very meticulous to pick LOW cal, LOW fat, LOW carb, HIGH protein choices. As for SF snacks, in my book they are a . The whole reason I had this surgery was to break my food addiction. If I "incorporate" these "allowed" snacks into my "diet" who am I helping? Not me. I'm only enabling a bad habit to creep back into my life. Ok, I'm gonna stop. I could go on and on here about nutrition and WLS. I just want to see each and every person here get the maximum benefit they can from their operation and I just know that increasing cals and carbs and snacks is not the way to do it. Love, Dawn
