Fruit-What works for you?
Hi everyone!
So I am going to a BBQ on Sunday evening and I have been assigned to bring a fruit dish. (Probably good since I suck at cooking) I was wondering if anyone has a good idea on what fruit is WLS Pouch Friendly and what seems to work for you? I welcome any good low-cost ideas that you may have.
Thanks everyone!!

Hi Amber....nice to see you again!!
Wel as far as whole fruits go I do a lot of bananas cause they are mild on my pouchie
But as far as a fruit dish is concerned I am not sure, I dont make a lot of dishes that are fruit based......maybe a nice blueberry cobbler using splenda of course. Or you can do what my mom does a lot, she slices strawberries and sprinkles splenda on them to use for strawberry shortcake or on a an angel food cake...I hope you have a good time. Good luck!!

Hi Amber,
I find most fruits are very easy to enjoy since they have a lot of moisture and go down easy. Strawberries are in season now, so I always like those. You could make a fruit tray with sliced, fresh pineapple, whole strawberries, banana chunks (sprinkle lemon juice on them to keep them from turning brown), and perhaps sprinkle with some blueberries or seedless grapes. Enjoy!

I just had a brainstorm...I remember a dish that I believe has fruit in it. It is called frog eye salad, and you can find the recipe on the back of a box of acini pepe pasta. It is soooo delish, and anything that has regular sugar in it you can probably find in sugar free also!! Maybe this would be a fun thing to make, and I know it is quick and easy!!!

Hi Amber!
I myself have never tried this, but I actually had printed it off to try sometime this week. I've heard multiple people rave about how yummy it is. Maybe it would work for you?
Grape Salad
About 1.5-2 lbs of grapes, seedless, washed and dried
4 oz. cream cheese (can use fat-free)
1/2 cup splenda or sugar
1 carton of s/f vanilla yogurt or sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Mix well with mixer. Add grapes and stir gently. Refrigerate. Lasts up to a good week... Really keeps the grapes crisp! You can also add some chopped up walnuts to this if you'd like.
