Topic: RE: Drainage, help!
Hey Crystal, I'm 3 weeks post op and I had the sameee problem. I thought something was wrong. It was more than a little but it wasn't a lot a lot. At times I ended up changing the dressing 2x a day. But like the woman above me said, if it's not foul smelling it's cool. My doc said it was normal. It was like every time I sat down, it would come out. I hope you get it taken out soon. But, for advice I say don't do so much moving around cause I found that to be my problem and if the wetness of the dressing bothers you, I say change it 2x like I did. Good luck!!

Topic: RE: Hi everyone, I'm new here...
Hey Julie...so we're just a day apart! Everything seems to be going well so far just sore around the stomach and my muscles hurt (you too?) I shopped around and I realized that I was getting a good deal. I took out a loan too...I knew Mexico was an option all along but Germany came out of no where and they have great reputations. Originally I was going to do something called the gastric balloon, which is not FDA approved. Not the best option though since you don't loose a ton of weight on it and I'd like to loose 130pounds. My healing has been good so far, thank G-d, just resting and taking time off work. I'm back in the states now (NYC). The flight was kind of rough...so since then I haven't even left the house! How are you doing? let me know... all the best, Sally

Topic: RE: On 3rd week and going nuts..I need help!
I did eat a lot of the creamed soups.. for whatever reason i was not to have crm tomato.. i would check with your nut for some suggestions.. try adding some SF jam to your crm of wheat .. it makes it much easier to go down.. SF fudgesicles are good too.. sorry i can't be of much help... i kinda felt similar to you when i was on my full liquid.. there really isn't a lot of variety in food choices... i really like the cookies n' crm protein powder with SF chocolate syrup... Topic: RE: Stuck at 32lbs lost at 3 weeks post op
As of yesterday 8 days postop I lost 15 pounds. The Dr. said don't be surprised if it slows down. We didn't gain overnight did we. It's probably better to take it off slow. Are you taking in your protein and water? Cindy

Topic: RE: Pls Help!!! how much should I be eating?
I was told 70+ gms of protien daily, 3 8oz protein shakes, 3 small meals and 700-800 calories. What a difference a doc and NUT makes! Are you eating 6 oz. of soup at one sitting? I was told no more than 3 oz's at the most at one time. Remember your stomach is only the size of 1 oz. I would try cutting that down and try to get in at least another protein shake. Topic: RE: DRAIN!!
For me when the drain came out (in the hospital) it was such a relief! The drain was the most uncomfortable part! It just felt weird when they took it out. Snipped a suture and then had you take a deep breath as they pulled it out. It wasn't painful, just a weird feeling. Shanna www.GourmetSoyOnline.com

You are all doing amazing! Remember that the more you have to lose the faster the pounds come off. Make sense? I'm a little over 4 weeks out and have lost 32 lbs total. That's 22 since surgery. My NUT says I'm right on track. I've figured out that I've already lost 1/3 of what I was hoping to lose in a month! As I've heard everyone hits a stall around 3 weeks, it's very normal. You'll have 5-7 days with no loss and then drop 5 lbs. Don't worry you'll get there! It seems slow, but when have you ever lost this much in such a short amount of time? Keep up the great work and keep your spirits up! A great attitude is everything! Shanna www.GourmetSoyOnline.com

Kim, The first 2 weeks are the hardest and it only get's better from there. It's hard to be on liquids even if it is cream soup. Also, your nervous your going to screw something up Hang in there and you'll see what I mean I was eating cottage cheese after 2 weeks with no problem. Shanna www.GourmetSoyOnline.com

Kim, Sounds to me like you're either eating too fast or too much. It's really hard to get used to having more "substance" in your new tummy and hard to eat so slow when you have hardly anything to eat. Also make sure your not drinking while your eating. Try to focus on those things and you should feel better. Hope that helps! Shanna http://www.GourmetSoyOnline.com

You should be attempting to get in at least 70 plus grams of protein in a day depending on your height (I am 5'7 and need 96 g) It doesn't look like you are getting enough protein in. I would be eating a Protein shake and a cottage cheese or yogurt in the morning, a lunch of some sort of meat or fish, and some veggies, and for a snack another protein shake and then dinner, more meat and veggies. You should be getting at least 64 oz of water. Plateaus come from metabolism slowing down to conserve what little you are eating. Eat more and your weight will go down. You should at least be eating 800 to 1200 calories depending on what you NUT told you.
