I keep looking down at my drain, but rest assured it isn't going anywhere. I'll be glad when I can get it out though. I think we'll feel a whole new life once it is removed.
Mine comes out Thursday at 2pm. The thought of him pulling it out makes me a pansy! But we'll get through it, made this far!

Thanks, yes they did send me home with the lovely tasting liquid pain medicine. I'm doing better today, and I know each day will get better and easier. I'm going to try and go back to work tomorrow. We'll see how that goes!

Topic: I got a Surgery Date!!
Finally Tammy called from Dr. Schauer's office this afternoon to let me know that the psychologist finally cleared me... so my Official Tentative date is March 13. She said she will call tomorrow with the Official Date of March 13, after she got the OK from the finance department.
I stared my 2 week liquid diet today, so far so good. I'm sure it is only gonna get harder.

I told Julius the day I went to have mine removed that when he got it out of me I might be tempted to do kartwheels or kiss him. That and the excitement over getting to eat grits and other foods made it such a great day! Just be careful when they move you into the liquids with consistency stage, I got super sick the first day because I wasn't sure what full felt like yet, so I overdid it. Just go slow. That first day was weird... I wasn't sure when to drink again because I stayed full soooo long after I ate that I was afraid of drinking, and I STILL over did it.

I am still on the full liquid diet with the only additions being a scrambled egg, cottage cheese ( heavenly after 10 days of just liquid!!) and a peice of whole wheat toast. I don't care for eggs so it's hard to make myself try that and the toast seems too scary so the only thing I've tried is the cottage cheese. I called the Dr. office this morning and they said that the juice was ok as long as I am diluting it.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will tape it back down! I was just getting used to it being there and not disturbing my sleep. I had go and mess with something that wasn't broken.

Well I am happy to say that my nausea is over. Thanks for all the advice.
Yes, I am finishing my 4th post-op week of liquid-only diet. My doc has me drinking 3 cans of High Protein Slimfast or High Protein Boost and 64 ounces of water and that is it (less than 600 calories per day). So why isn't the weight just falling off of me?????
The two are the only choices the nut gave me. What other high protein drinks do you all recommend??
