This is one advantage of the band.  I get to keep most my hair.  Just the normal lost from any surgery.  And yes I'm coloring that grey

Yep we are way different!  Six week to heal, no restriction.  Than we slowly get fills until we get to restriction.  Than after you lose some weight off your stomach, you need more fill to get back to restriction.  Now that I told you the hard part.  The good part we don't have the malnutrition, so we don't need so much supplementation or lab works.  Also, we don't have a window to lose in.  We can be adjusted five years down the road.

So, hopefully you all will still be here so I can see if all the hype is true.  (My sister had a DS along time ago so I have really researched this WLS stuff.)

Congratulations on your loss my sister did the lap band as well it took her two years to lose her weight so never feel discouraged the slow weight loss is better you can do a lot more toning with your body etc.

That is why I chose it!  At my age I need all the help I can get

I'm thinking feb 09'ers and did not realize I was shouting out to feb the 9th'ers only.  I've been doing this wrong.

You've educated me on the lap band.  I've needed major dieting from the start even with the rny, but I thought the typical bander started out similar to the vsg or vbg.

I'm gonna spell it out correctly the next time.  Hope to see your update!

I'm just starting to loose some hair but I'll never let my gray show.  I have just a little but its at the hairline in one half inch spot.  Overall my hair is still soft and shiny, but there's a lot in the drain.  If its the RNY or my recent thyroid disturbance I just don't know.  So far its following the thyroid pattern.  I don't know how RNY hair loss will differ.

I'm keeping my protein a little higher than needed and my multi includes biotin.  Fingers crossed.
