Topic: RE: GOAL, CAN YOU SEE IT ON THE HORIZON ANYONE?
I've lost a little over 100 pounds in the past 8 months, but  I'm somewhere around 40 pounds to my Doc's goal.

I guess that should be my goal, too (it's still overweight) .... and I'd ultimately be 'okay' with that weight, but I'd love to be <*gasp*> it's the first time I've said it out loud ... at half of my starting weight ... which is another 30 pounds below my Doc's goal, and directly in the center of the 'healthy'  weight according to those nasty charts.

As for single digit size clothing .. I'll never get there.  I don't have the bone structure for it. [That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ]    Seriously, tho ...  in college I was 135 pounds, but  I never got below a size 14.   I'm thrilled to be fitting into some size 18s (dresses), and 20/22 (slacks).   This is a major change from the 30/32 I had been in.   I *can* find clothing in the 'normal' clothing stores now, and don't have to gravitate to the large woman sections ... tho, I do kind of miss going into Fashion Bug and looking for the little indicators on the hangers that meant that was their BIGGEST size ... it was *much* easier than hunting through hundreds of hangers for the correct size.    How is that for 'sick'? ;)

I'm the jealous one.  You've hit goal now the rest is gravy.  It must feel good to have gotten there in under eight months.  You personal goal will be yours before you know it.

When eating enough is hard just remember foods like nuts and avocados.  All those good fats raise the caories and are nutritious too.

While I know todays sizes are vanity sizes (and not the standard US measures), it still feels good to be in the single digits.  I'm often frustrated but happy with the results too.

I have to say that I am a bit jealoous guys, size 6 and 8???? Congrats!  I have reached my Dr's goal as of yesterday and my personal goal is another 21 lbs away.  I thought it was great that I got into a size 34 jeans the other day, I better get moving lol. I am finding it hard to stay on track, at least with the eating.  I'm constantly being told by doctors that I am not eating enough and I find myself reaching for high calorie foods to make up for it. I just have to keep reminding myself to make healthy choices. I'm still working on the Iron infusions and B12 injections, waiting for them to kick in any day so I actually have some energy!

Hello Everyone... my eightmonth surgiversary is tomorrow.  It is all really great.  The loss is wonderful.  My energy is really up.  I just wish I could lose a few pounds more a month.  I am with you... it's much harder than I thought.   I have no complaints.  I just am thrilled by my results so far.  I was wearing Size 8 Levis today and a medium top.  I feel so much younger and alive.  This is all exactly what I wanted.  Still...food...emotions...vitamins..water....protein... some days getting it all right is a struggle.  Hope everyone has wonderful stories to share.  You all are looking so beautiful.  All the avatars are changing and WOW!!  Keep up the good work you Feb Peeps!!

Hey Marla... How's it going?  I think it is so hard right now.  I have been in a stall, but excercising, and getting smaller.  I just am hungry more now and wanting to eat crunchy crap.

Sounds great and you will be on your way. I wear my scrubs from when I was in school and I don't have to wear to much considering I am at work and then when I am at home I just wear my pj's. Unless I decide to do something special I refuse to buy anything right now. Even though my pants need to go down a size or two I will definitely wear a belt for the moment. On my 145 pound goal I will be taking a cruise thats all to say hey I did it. 36 years being a mom  daughter sister etc I thought it was finally time to just take a moment to recoup from all I been dealing with. Now I can't wait until November 27th. Got a full package everything included breakfast spa treatments dinner a fire place something I have always looked forward to doing. Now that I have my fiance in my life I finally have the chance to live life a little bit more Praying I can lose the surgeons 19 pounds before I go on my trip to.

Keep it going girl, congratulations!

If you chart your goals on the possible weight loss calculator in the information about surgery section you'll see that after the first few months the anticipated loss drops to just about 5 lbs a month.  Now that you're lighter you'll have to up the intensity on the exerise to keep it going.

As a so called 'lightweight' I've had to do two sessions since the start.  I worked out once a day pre op, upped to twice a day post op and starting this week I'm adding a third session making it about two hours a day until I hit maintenance.  It sucks but I want to drop nine pounds a month over the next three months.   This is the only way I have a prayer of making it happen.
