Topic: RE: Do you eat slow
I know that sometimes when I eat too fast, I get stomach spasms. Maybe that is how the pouch stretches? I can't really see it stretching too much if you are eating the small amounts though. Good for you 104lbs! WOW!! Doesn't it feel great?

Thanks Robin, and you are looking pretty Hot yourself! I'm very happy with my loss to date. Of course I had quite a bit more than you to start with...and I think what they say, "the more you have to lose, the more you lose" or something like that...who knows.
My new Avatar is me and my son. I was down in Oregon over Labor Day to visit him. He is almost 20!
(they grow up so fast....)
Glad you are doing so well too! Take care-
Hugs,
Kathy

Every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed.

It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle
when the sun comes up you'd better be running.

You look so good! I have lost 100lbs now and am feeling really good. I still have about 65 to go to get to goal and have been stalling like crazy. I think at this point in the game it just gets harder. I have 6 month pics in my profile, but nothing yet for this month. Guess I need to get on it!
How is South Korea? Are you adjusting to it? I hope things continue to go well with you and keep in touch! You look AWESOME!

Topic: Do you eat slow
Just wondering about the Feb. people, I am losing just fine and not having any issues with food, I follow my nut's requirements to the letter never ever overeat, but I eat normally, I chew well but I don't go real slow like some people. How fast do you guys eat? I heard if you eat fast you stretch the pouch, but how could that happen if you eat the required amounts.

Yesterday, I hit 90 pounds lost (which is 64% of my goal). I am in my "goal size" for dresses, and one size away (two depending on the brand) in jeans.
I've started journaling (again) because I realized that I struggle getting in enough protein and water. Right now I'm concentrating on getting consistent protein, but, am increasing my water. [I've started drinking decaf tea] at work to help increase my water intake throughout the day -- since I spend 10 hours at my desk (4 days a week).
I have set a 'goal' to complete "Scout Out Huntingdon County" before year end in 2010. I doubt I'll fini**** before the snow flies this year ... but that's not going to stop me from logging some miles. To complete the achievement you cover "100 miles of heritage." And, you can earn patches (mini-rewards) for completing various 'segments' ... you can get more information at: http://scouts.raystown.org/ perhaps your area has something like this to get out and get active.
From 8/15 to 9/9 I lost 5.5 pounds and 4.25 inches -- according to Curves. [That's okay because from 7/13 to 8/15 I had a 15.5 pound and 11.5 inch loss, and they can't ALL be spectacular. ;) ]
It's another month before I see my nutritionist again. I plan on kicking butt between now and then.

Wow! 10 lbs so far for this month is wonderful! I hate the bloated feeling. I've taken to drinkning tea at night, and peeing at night too. I think the tea has a diuretic effect.
I struggle with temptation as well. Do I really want to try the sugar free chocolate? I had it pre-op. I love the WW sugar free candies that Whitman's puts out. Do I dare? HELL NO! I am afraid that I won't stop...until the sugar alcohols have me running to the head.
But still....there are those fleeting thoughts. Then I tell myself the ole' slogan "Nothing Tastes As Good As Being Thin Feels". Okay, let's face it. That's really a crock! I can think of many things that I would say taste better than being thin feels. I'm a very oral person...taste is important to me.... (almost to the gutter....)
That is why, like you pointed out, WE MUST BE VIGILANT!
Hope you pee alot....
Hugs,
Kathy

Some RNYers need to be on antacids for the rest of their lives. I'm taking Prilosec OTC or the generic omeprazole, which is cheaper. If your doctor wont give you something then try it and see if it helps you. I will be on it forever. Not risking an ulcer. I had one years ago before surgery and never want to deal with that again.

Glad you're feeling well.
My weigh in for this week is tomorrow but I've lost 10.8 so far this month. I'm retaining water horribly so I have no clue for this week yet. Hopefully a diuretic will help.
My surgeon has lowered my goal so I have an extra 13 lbs to loose but that's ok. My previous goal left me technically still overweight. At 140 lbs I will be solid in the normal range and that's where I really want to be. Now to get there by my follow up date of 2/4/2010!
It seems a long way off but I'm starting to struggle with temptation. Vigilance! That's what I need to remember.
