What is the G-Tube??

I have read where people are getting the G-Tube out .... well what is is??? I am having the rny....... if you have a G-Tube what kind of surgery did you have.?? Donna

I am having the open RNY. While in surgery they will place a tube in my nose that will come out in recovery. They will also place an IV in my neck to shoot meds through. And I will have the G tube. That is a tube to your lower stomach so it can drain. Some doctors leave it there 2 weeks, Joy's doctor said a month. It is also a way you can be fed if there are issues. My dr pulls it out on the 2 week visit. It is below your left breast area and some people who are allergic to tape/latex seem to have problems with that site with it getting red and irratated. This is the best answer I can give you. I noticed you did not have an answer.
