I'm home and feeling fine...

I got home from the hospital at about 2pm today and I'm happy to report that everything went extremely well. No complications, no problems, everything went as it should. My surgery was RNY lap and took nearly 4 hours, I was in recovery for about 2 hours, then up to my room. I was walking around by 8pm. The hardest part about the day was getting no ice chips, just a sponge to wet my lips. The leak test was Fri. morning, and I wasn't allowed anything to drin****il after the test. My mouth was like the Sahara Desert. My pain level was never above a "4". I didn't have morphine, the pain med I got was an anti-inflammitory and I'm sorry I can't remember the name of it...I just know it worked great.I didn't have any nausea or vomitting, and have just started with diarreah. It's really hard getting the protein shakes in, but my doctor told me for the first week my pouch will be swollen; don't worry as much about the protein shakes as liquid in general. In other words, drink as much protein as you can, but make sure you get 64 oz. of liquids. I'm feeling great, and can't believe I'm actually on the losing side. Wooohooo! I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support. How could I have done it without you guys? Karen L

No baby yet...can you believe it! Amanda's little bundle has been so cooperative, waiting for me to get home before being introduced to the world. How lucky can I get? I'm predicting it'll be tomorow. Karen
