The After..... DIET!!

What are other docs recommending for diets around the country??? Just looking for variations.... Seems like the one office the regular doc (he has a nutrition store right there, how convenient) makes killing on the protein packs and stuff. It doesn't bother me to offer it but to charge for EVERYTHING is crazy. When the nutritionist at the hospital taught me to make my own milk that has a ton of protein in it, then use that to make all the liquid stuff.... And the vitamins, got them from Sam's Club, Children's chewable, 300 for a whopping 10.63!!!! And they are Scooby Doo, too!!! What are your docs saying?????? Jen T

My doctor sells a protein powder, but it's not required that you get it from him. He's flexible like that. We just have a requirement of two 50 g protein shakes per day (morning and afternoon) in addition to our regular food plan and that is on going, not just for a short period of time. I have been buying the EAS chocolate protein powder at BJ's and ordering the unflavored Resource Beneprotein from walgreens.com. I got my Flintstones vitamins at BJ's, and my TUMS (for my calcium) at Sam's Club. A multi vitamin and calcium are my only daily requirements from him. I have been working on building my protein intake going into surgery to build up my reserves. Hopefully it will help with speedy healing. Hugs, Mo doin' the ALMOST 7 days and a wake up happy Mo dance

I like the Whey protein powder that my doc sells by ISS and the price is the same as on their website and it is convenient....not a requirement but offered as part of the program...also they have their own brand of broth, teas, cereals, etc. I am not going to think of it as a "diet" but just a different way of eating.
