Pajamas???
I wore in some elastic waist jeans and a baggy zip down sweat shirt and was very comformtable coming home. I did NOT wear underwear or a bra.
I had open RNY and after coming home even those jeans were bagging!! They were my largest pair of jeans. I still don't wear a bra yet.
I have a tube sticking out and have no problems wearing granny pantys and use them to tuck the hose in. I have tape across my incision and no staples. Might ask if your are going to have to have staples versus a clean incision.
Take your pillow with you to the hospital - this was the biggest mistake I made and luckily someone brought me one from home. I used their "designer" gown for ease.

I wore sweat pants and am still more comfortable with elastic waists 2 weeks post surgery. Old Navy has them for cheap, doesn't it? I really recommend you get a couple pairs of something cheap. Everyone will understand if you have to grub a little bit to be comfortable.
Not that with lap RNY, I had an incision right at my bra line and also wasn't comfortable wearing a bra. I went with a sweatshirt until this cleared up after about a week (about the time I got outside my house again, so it wasn't an issue except briefly on the way to the door).
