Slipping in some protein
I have my first post surgery check up today. My doctor was really jammed, so this is my first one even though I'm day 13 or so.
I really look forward to your cooking tips as I start incorporating protein. Up till now, my doctor's program has included only soft food, like cream soups. I know that what we eat, even if it's small amounts, can be tasty with some thought. And you seem to have a handle on that. What kind of cheese do you buy?

P.S. BTW, I partially grew up in Marked Tree, Arkansas, which is a tiny place (name like that, it would have to be, huh?) near Little Rock (the big city, when I was a kid!!!!) Do you know if?
I've heard of Marked Tree, but if I have been through it, I missed it!
Cream of Wheat should be on your soft foods list. If you can have creamed soups you can have this.
I have a diet progression schedule but don't go back to see the doctor until 4/1 (30 days post op), unless I have problems. Isn't it strange how different they all are?

I'm having no problem at all with protein - I've got that Beneprotein (tasteless/odorless) from walgreens.com, and I throw a scoop in EVERYTHING! Yesterday I took in 72 g, but I'm averaging about 65 g/day, and I'm still on clear fluids! I SWEAR by this stuff. Tomorrow I start 'full fluids' - is there such a thing as overdosing on protein?
If there is, it'll begin tomorrow with some 'real' food!
