My surgery is scheduled for March 25th. I am terrified! I am also trying to stop smoking and it is not at all going ok! I am thinking of backing out, but I really really really want to do it! I just seem to become more terrified of the surgery with each passing day! Any suggestions?! to get me in there

Sue, I'm scared Sh**less too! My surgery is a day before yours. I have all those same thoughts but I refuse to give in. I'm having this surgery and I'm going to lose weight and for once in my life not be obese! I think it's because you know you are having surgery that it's freaking you out. I had a baby 6.5 months ago and it was a scheduled c-section and I was calling my friends the week of the delivery and telling them that I wasn't going to show up at the hospital. I'd just stay pregnant...eventually the baby would have to come out on it's own. I went nuts! LOL!!! Well, obviously I went and had the c-section but I think knowing you are about to have your body hacked on scares the crap out of a person. That was my deal anyway. I'm there with ya. Scared to death but we'll make it!

Sue, what you are feeling is completely normal!! I was terrified but I went in there knowing everyone was praying for me and God would pull me through this. I am now 13 days post-op and am so happy. I have lost 25 lbs as of 9 days post op. I go to my PCP today and get to weigh myself again. What I am saying is..... you will be nervous but know that you have tons (and I mean TONS) of people behind you and praying for a uneventful surgery and good recovery. Bethany AKA Da Offishal Riddler and Bertha 13 Days into NewPouch and feeling great! -25 lbs!!!! Yayyyy A riddle a day will keep the Marchers pounds AWAY!

I would like to say first congradulations on recieving your date. We have to remember that we are being blessed by being able to even get the approval and be able to have the surgery scheduled. There is someone worst off then you. But because of this, the devil uses this as a trying time for anyone getting close to being blessed. We all are having the same mixed anxiety feeling. My surgery is this friday, the 19th and I tell you the devil is busy, but most of all he is a liar. We need to keep our focus on GOD for everything. I will pray for your smoking habit to cease as you will need to pray as well and believe that he has bought you this far and will never leave you alone. GOD loves you and because you love him, I love you too. Please be encouraged, we want you to have a successful journey. ~~JanetN

I am 6 days post op. I was scared to death. I never had surgery in my life. Not even stitches. I am already up and walking around and shopping. You will be back to normal in no time. If you back out, you will never forgive yourself and always ask yourself what if? I just kept looking at the before and after pictures, right up to the very end. That kept me going. You have nothing to lose, but a bunch of weight that is making you sooo unhappy.
