PCP appt. today
Hi Marchers, how is everybody doing? Well, I have an appt. with my PCP today and even though it is just for a referrel to a dermotologist they will still have to weigh me. I have different emotions going on right now.
1.) I am so excited because I always go to the doc and weigh myself and the scale keeps going up up up and away. This time it will go down some more.
2.) Because of the fact that just about everytime I have weighed myself it has gone up...(although I KNOW deep down it will not go up) I am afraid of it going up. I guess that is because I have seen this constantly for the last 5 years or so. I am so scared about this. I know I have not gained weight but I can't get that thinking out of my mind. It is so hard to believe I am losing.
To top things off right now the tape covering my incision came off today and my wound is still open a little. I have nothing to cover it up with. Half of it is scabbed and healed..the other half is open a little. Pray no infection comes of it.
Anyways, I will update late on my WL at my PCP. TTYL!! Thanks for letting me vent.

-25 lbs!!!! Yayyyy
A riddle a day will keep the Marchers pounds AWAY!

I know what you mean. It hasnt sunk in that I wont gain this back as fast as I lose it. I have never lost 20lbs and kept it off for any serious amt of time. It usually comes back and brings more with it.
My incisions look the same. I was about to post and see if that was normal. Two are closed all the way, one is half, and one looks open(not deep just open). I have two more to go. I guess it is ok. I am thinking that it would leave an ugly scar though. Oh well. Good luck on the weigh in.

While you're at your PCP's, ask him for some steri-strips or butterfly strips to put over the incision. If you don't get this post in time prior to going to the PCP, then pick some up from a pharmacy...
The hole from my drain split open several times after they took the drain out. I don't know why they didn't steri-strip it at the hospital, but they just dressed it and that was it. After the 3rd time it opened (and blood was running down my leg...and Queen Mum saw it and I thought she was gonna pass out...), I hit my 'stash' of medical supplies and steri-stripped it. It's been fine ever since.
The steri-strips on my other incisions (I had a Lap RNY) are JUST about to wear off, but there's no scab, they're already healed over, so I'm not concerned 'bout those. But the drain HOLE was becoming a problem - one steri-strip later, it's resolved. I think MAYBE (I can't confirm this...) that all the months of snarfing down protein shakes and vitamins pre-op really lent a lot to the healing NOW: I'm not a 'great' healer, but this has been just this side of miraculous, incisions included. They're all but gone now!
Steri-strips...just to keep it together 'til it heals more.
