Had surgery on March 10th

Wow....hard to believe I had laparoscopic fobi gastric bypass just 5 days ago. I am actually feeling quite well. Tired of course. But that is to be exspected isn,t it? I had my surgery in Monterrey with Dr. Rumbaut. He is awsome!! I leave to go back to Oregon on March 18th. Never did get nervous. Everything went great! I wish the best for upcoming patients. I hope it all goes as well as mine did! Linda

Linda! Good to see you here. I am still in Mexico after my surgery with Dr. Aguirre. It's beautiful here on the coast but I hadn't left my room until today as I just didn't want to wander around with this drain. I feel wonderful even though I was open rny. I haven't had any pain since I got back and was weak the first day but have been great ever since. I'm on soft foods already which has helped enormously with the weakness. I got some protein drink mix from a friend and it was wonderful. It helped immediately. I come home on the 17th - a day before you do. Are you waiting for a drain to come out also or just making sure all is okay? I can't wait to get home. Mexico is nice, but sometimes the smells are overwhelming when you have had this surgery. I can't remember what you said about what you paid for the lap procedure...do you mind repeating that? I think it was cheaper open though. I really kind of wanted lap also but now that I've had it open I feel fantastic about that. I didn't think I would be mobile or anything, but I feel better now than I did with my lap gallbladder or my c-section and haven't had pain meds since I left the hospital on Friday. We need to talk more and compare notes about our Mexico experiences! Dina -cha cha cha
