well 7 days out and am back to my pre surgery weight ( which was down 15 from last doc visit) and have lost another almost 7- so yes- you do lose the weight- lol
food is not my best friend anymore- and it feels so good- yet- I at this point just dont know where all this will end up-lol

Dena

Hi Dena,
I hear ya girl, I thought I got hit by a train! The morphine pump was worthless and it took them over 24 hours to take the damn thing off me and give me pain shots. All I can say is thank god for drugs !!!!!!!!! hope your feeling better, you will its been 12 days for me and I feel pretty good and the inision is almost all healed close.

-22 pounds woohoooooooooo

Maybe in the drug fog, we forget after the fact?
I went in expecting to have 2 weeks from hell, and really was surprised to feel as good as I did by the end of the first week. I'm starting week 3 now and still have some soreness, but I would only call it pain when I do something stupid (like pick up my 24 lb grandson!)
I don't have much stamina yet, but I keep hearing the energy does not come back in force until about a month out. Right now the exercising is taking brute force, but is not so bad once I get started. I look forward to that getting easier. Other than that, no real complaints.

-18 lbs/ 15 days
I had a lot of pain compared to the other patients I saw around me. They were all talking about going to the first support group two days later and I'm like ARE YOU NUTS.
I also had a post surgery infection which seems to have slowed down what loss shows on the scale.
I've read enough journals that I've found a bunch of others who have these patterns -- and it's heartening to see their post 3 months later or so that says "I feel great and have lost 50 lbs." Whenever I'm low, I go flipping through the before and afters.
Look at all these Dena's/Dina's around here! LOL!
Sorry to be one of those parade rainers, but I had an open and I'm one of those saying "no pain." I asked my surgeon why I had no pain and he said it was because he doesn't cut muscle or nerves. Well, Deanne, who was in a week before me and she had extreme pain. I have a theory that maybe those who have a lot of pain may have had a nerve that was stray and in the way where others don't have it.
Just a thought...hope it gets better for you quickly...
