I was just looking at these on e-Bay this morning so this is one thread I'll be watching! One thing to note, I had a recombenent (sp) bike that was fairly easy to use and I could do it while watching T.V. It was the kind that you sit back on and peddle out in front of you. I bought it at Sears, it was another of my diet things. When the diet didn't work out I took it back... a week and a half later. Looks like I might buy 'it' again! It's absolutely no impact so if your knees hurt at least it won't be 'pounding' them and you'll still be getting some exercise. So any way one of these might be a place to start. Also, you might wanna try buying used. People buy them and use them for a little bit and just end up hanging clothes on them. Let someone else take the depreciation in value and you can take 'junk' off their hands! Gayle Queen of Yarn Balls

I just got mine this past weekend, and I love it. I didn't 'need' all the bells and whistles that most of 'em have. The only 'features' I wanted were the time I've walked and total miles I've walked (when I get to that point...). So I got away with a BASIC model from Sears. My incline isn't "button touch" - I have to adjust it manually IF I want to adjust it (probably never will). Mine is a space-saver - the treadmill folds up into the front part of it, makes the entire thing stand upright. There's zillions of variations and features you can get on 'em. Heck, one I saw even had free-weights built into it. Some have "ski pole" things you can hold as you walk, etc, but I didn't need all that - I just wanted one where I could do as I've done today: watch the snow fly outside, watch TV and walk all at once while staying warm and dry and walking on a level plane. It's probably one of the most practical purchases I've made in years. Figure out what you want and go from there...ask the sales person to tell you the different features of each one. I got mine at Sears and I like it fine except for one thin. The handles are uncomfortable. I ended up putting long socks on them so I cold hold on to something a little softer.. So, whatever you get, check the handles for comfort! Linda - The Resident Witch
