I have been so busy with work. On Monday,I broke down and cried under tremendous amount of stress due to work and deadlines I need to have completed before surgery. Today though I felt much happier. But with all this work, I don't seem to have time for "me" aas I get ready for surgery. It's not until a half hour before bed I can even get on the computer and think surgery and how will I use my tool. I find mysefl in disblief that I am even having my surgery next Monday. It just doesn't seem real. Thursday I have my pre-op testing. I just want to step back and breathe and enjoy how far I have come with the surgery and be prepared for my new lifestyle. Thanks for listening. Wendy Ann

Wendy - all that is normal, but just try not to dwell on the stuff that stresses you out. If you believe in God, put it all on Him and he'll make sure you are fine. I can't express the peace I had when I really turned over all my anxiety to Him. I spend a lot of time now just about ready to jump out of my skin over the joy over realizing how my life will change for the better so drastically and so quickly. Concentrate on that. That is a good thing to dwell on! Dina

Well look on the bright side. If you are too busy to think about it at least you wont go crazy waiting for it. Believe me it will be here before you know it. See you on the losing side. LaDonna -20

The key is to take time to get in your closet and talk to God. He loves you and does not want you to stress out. Work will always be there, this surgery is once in a life time. This is your chance to become healthy and to live longer and enjoy the really important things in life. Just remember your family loves and needs you. I am praying for you and I pray for you all at 6:00am every morning. Sarah T.

Busy is good. The week before surgery is nerve-wracking. The object of the game is to muddle through it. Sorry the work stress is so bad. Your time will come, and you will be ready. Take a deep breath, say a prayer, and muddle through like the rest of us! Joy

The week before is hard. The bursting into tears thing is pretty much the drill. Stay as positive as you can. Practice scheduling in a little time for mental preparation (or errands or whatever) into your busy life. That is what we will have to do after surgery -- make more time for health than probably most of us have ever done. On the upside, if you have any co-morbidities, those are gonna take up a lot LESS of your time. I was 3/2 and have already thrown out half my prescriptions under my doctor's direction. Do see if you can take a few minutes (if that's all you have) to be NICE to yourself, like get a new lipstick or something, rent a movie, have a pedicure, etc. You deserve it. Gan
