would like info

i am having surgery on march 23, and i would like to know if you all think that it is ok for me to get my hair colored and highlighted tomorrow. being so close to surgery. i need to cover up gray. or do you think that it will really hurt my hair and end up being worst when i start losing it after surgery. i just don't know.

Passy I just had mine hi/lo lighted and my surgery is tomorrow, didn't even know that was an issue. Betty

A friend of mine is a stylist, and pre-op, she told me to have anything done to my hair BEFORE surgery 'cuz after surgery, perms, tints, coloring, etc, often doesn't "take". I only use Redken Shades on occasion ('cuz I pull out the mere half-dozen or so gray hairs I have...yes, I KNOW I'm lucky!), and contemplated it, but skipped it. My best friend is treating me to a 'total makeover' when I get to a stage where I've lost enough weight so you can finally see my face again. Ain't she the bee's knees? From what I read, I agree. Better before than afterward. I got a perm a few weeks before my surgery. Mine needs color but I'm waiting a while now before I try that. Joy
