I am still here

The staples came out tuesday and that was painless. Joan the office manager and the doctor both said that I didn't look like I had just had major surgery. 12 days out I would be afraid to see what some of the others look like coming in. I am so happy they are gone. He put steri strips across the incision to keep me from ripping apart. They will fall off on their own time. I am still leaking. It just sucks. A little hole there that is not closing and still draining. He didn't seem too concerned about it. (the doctor)It took us 3 hours though to get home. From the traffic and the freaking snow. I was given more foods to eat. He said fish (which I had for dinner) crackers and wheat bread. No raw vegtables unless they are cooked in soup or something. I have officially lost 25lbs. But I think it is more around 30. I am now 299

About time you check in! Your weight loss is terrific! Are you leaking into the "unused" stomach? Apparently it is not getting in the way of losing! You are doing great! Don't be a stranger... Joy

14 days post op - I am still doing really well. I don't like the hole in my stomach and the leaking. I called the doctor he said it is normal and to just keep in clean and dry as much as possible. the scar area except for the hole is looking great. I am still eating well. Had fish again last night. It is hard to get 5 meals in have only gotten 4 so far. Mostly been eating things with protein in it. I add a scoop and half of whey protein to the chocolate pudding mix, it tastes great.

Ah! I get it! You aren't leaking internally, your incision is still a bit open and oozing! That would not be fun, but should get better as long as you refrain from doing something stupid that rips it back open! Notice Brad--you are still HOT! Joy

Brad, Brad, Brad! I just wanted to share with you... it was 97* here on my porch yesterday and I shamefully took a nap in the air conditioned water bed! Will be thinking of you and all the other Penguin Marchers when I go to the hospital wearing shorts and sandals! Gayle Queen of Yarn Balls
