2 week update
Well just a few short weeks ago, I had my surgery as of today I have lost almost 50 lbs. While I was recovering I stayed at a hotel with some relatives, but boy am I so glad to be home. I think I need to recover from recovery. The surgery went well and am in no pain from the surgery, what I am having is some pain in my left thigh. I think something happened when I was in surgery as there was a huge bruise where the pain is, but the pain is a dull pain and when I stand up it feels like something tearing. Anyone had this as well? When I asked the doctor, he didn't seem to worried but even though the pain is demisnishing somewhat it still is somewhat painful. But if that is my only complaint, then I am doing well.

Margaret-
It sounds as if someone had "leaned" on you while during surgery. I am a RN and have worked in surgery before. We do use the patients legs to place instruments (none of which heavy enough to leave a bruise). Maybe the surgeon or assistants elbows? Just a suggestion.......

Hmmm, I had a stinging pain in my left thigh for the first two weeks, worse when I lay in certain positions. I bet I served as an instrument tray, too. The tearing sounds like a pulled or bruised muscle. If you're doctor doesn't object, try moist heat. Torn or bruised muscles can take a while to heal.
