More info on my complications

Hello everyone! Joy asked a question about what exactly they did when they when back in there to fix my kinked small intestine so I thought I would post that info. Joy was right it was below the stoma, which was why they couldn't use the scope down my throat as Doc thought they could. That was where he thought the problem would be. Anyway, when they rearrange your small intestine and disconnect part of it they have to re-route it. To keep it in place they have to stitch it in a couple of places. He said that usually when they see a kink there it's after you've lost 100 pounds or so and where they stitch it too has melted away with the loss of weight and so they sometimes have to go back in and fix it then. He said he's never seen one do this there this early. But they basically got in there and discovered that one of the places that was stitched had gotten kinked up so they took the stitch out and re-stitched in a little different place. There are several things that he thinks may have contributed to this complication. One was that I had a LOT of nausea and was vomiting some after my surgery. Another was that I was coughing a lot, really hard. He said he thinks between those two things and then the general swelling that comes with the surgery we have had that it obviously caused a problem. From the research I have done and what my Doc said, this is a rare complication for this early in the game. But hey! I have never done anything "normal" before so why should I start now???? The awesome news is that I am down 12 pounds in 8 days!!!! I weighed 284 the morning of surgery and got on the scale this morning and weighed 272!!!!!! I'm melting!! Thank you all for your prayers! You are the best friends/family a person could ask for!!!! I have MISSED you all SOOOOO much!!! Wow...I wonder if that's what happened to my sister a few weekends ago. Kinda sounds like it, and she's 2.5+ years out of WLS and -113 +/- pounds... We'll never know - she won't tell us (or at least ME) anything 'bout her WLS or anything associated thereof...). I second my Angel's motion...CCQC for Offishal Marcher Bad @$$ Babe...
