I Have a Date!! First time posting
This is my first post here but had to share the good news! My name is Amanda and I have been looking in to WLS since 1997. Last year I finally decided to take the steps to have surgery done since years of diets have failed. I have and had a lot of major medical problems which slowed down my process. The first surgeron told me that my medical problems are to severe and if I can convince him other wise he would do the surgery. I recieved celerance from my DRs that treated me and everything and he still refused. My problems were prior to meeting the DR. I have had major stomach problems in the past due to over medication and I have had brain surgery little over a year ago and my health was improving, and all my other DR gave me and the DR the go ahead to have surgery but it did not help! I didnt stop there I found DR fernandez and he is great! I was suppose to have my inital cnsult in OCT but had to be post poned due to the fact I developed blood clots in my arm from a cut down. Soon after I was after the blood thining medication I started the process again. I had my consult WED 03/17/04 and My surgery is schedule for next Friday!!! 03/26/04 I am so excited!! But I am nervous too. The time has come after all these years of looking into WLS!! 
Can anyone offer any advice on how to deal with the anxiety and what to expect. I am having RNY- Lap

Congratulations on your date Amanda... as far as dealing with anxiety, Keep busy... and read as many post op threads on this board as you can, they'll give you a lot of insight on what to expect... just remember everyone's bodies are different, your journey will be very unique in and of itself...
