Just had my first real food
And boy am I full
I had a soft scrambled egg with a quarter of a part skim string cheese melted into it. Based upon the nutrician info, that's about 2 and a quarter ounces total. Well, I ate a little more than half of it and felt the tweak in my gut and stopped. Now I feel soooooo full - and it's about half an hour after finishing it. I don't think I have ever eaten anything soooo slow before. But it's probably the first time where I really tasted my food and enjoyed the flavor. Amazing!!

Congrats, Marla!!
Re-learning this new plumbing sure is a 'treat', isn't it? I'd had some mashed potatoes a few days ago, and then later had some cottage cheese. Pre-op, anything I ate would "exit" anywhere from 24-28 hours later (yes, that's hours...my metabolism was non-existent, or actually, was "very efficient" in others' views...it soaked EVERY calorie, fat and carb out of EVERY bit of food I took in...cheez!). Now, anything I eat 'exits' in about 3-4 hours. WOWZER!! Well, when I had those potatoes and cottage cheese, it stayed in my system 'til the next afternoon, and I FREAKED, all I could think was "GET THIS OUTTA ME NOW!!!". I told that to my surgeon when he called yesterday and he laughed, said I'd REALLY have to get used to my new system, that my 24-28 hours pre-op was an extreme (duh, really?). But when it wasn't coming out, I started drinking LOTS and walking the treadmill. He said that's the best thing I could've done. But now my mashed 'taters are almost like WATER. I had IBS pre-op, and I'm NOT gonna go there again...constipation with my new innerds does NOT sound like it'll be anything fun!! THIS post-op is rigidly sticking to the rules...
