SOY PROTIEN??????

HAS ANYONE PRE-OP , OR POST-OP USED CARB SOLUTIONS ? I WAS PLANNING ON USING IT, ALL STOCKED UP ON IT AND A FRIEND CALLED WHO HAD WLS 2 YRS AGO TOLD ME NOT TO USE IT BECAUSE WE DONT UTILIZE THE SOY PROTIEN THAT IT HAS TO BE WHEY PROTIEN IS THIS TRUE???? THANKS WHAT ARE YOU ALL USING ANYWAY? THANKS MARY

Whey protein is preferred but if you are lactose intolerant you may have to use soy. Either way, protein is protein. Watch out for the fat content though and also for the sugar alchohols - I think those carb solutions might be relatively high in fat.

I agree with Rob. If it is not absorbed quite as well, so what? Use a little extra! I use Carb Solutions sometimes, especially in pudding since it is thick anyway. It is low carb and unlike Unjury (my favorite) it has vitamins and other supplements in it too. Joy

I haven't used Carb Solutions, but I have used a Soy Protein for years by Shaklee and I love it. I will be using it post op. Soy is also good for us women BTW -- it helps with hormones etc. Asian women eat a lot of soy and don't have the severity of menopause that we do and also a lesser incidence of some cancers and is good to fight against heart disease and many other things. I tried one can of Carb Solutions chocolate powder and really wasn't that crazy about it. I do like the Carb Solution protein bars tho and my dr will allow those LATER in my recovery. hugs, Mo doin' the OMG 2 days and wake up happy Mo dance
