I was gradually working up, but pretty much fell apart the two weeks before. Exercise preop can only help, but it does not seem to late to start afterwards, as long as you start. You will be fine. Don't be lookin' for trouble, Missy! Joy

Hi I dont know about anyone else but I am just going today! I think my kids wanna me already! I dont think I am asking for to much, I just want their rooms cleaned the laundry finished and the house kept in order, believe me I am not a neat freak, but I just like the house to be in order!!! What do you all think? Is asking for a sink clear of any dishes to much to ask, or for them to not walk over something because "they didnt do it" I may be in stress mode right now, I still have to pack my bag for the hospital, the baby's bag , she is staying with my mom all week ! and then to top it off just when I thought I had everything all planned out, One of my twin girls got kicked off the bus for 3 days mon-wed. because she got into an with another girl who is the local bully and pushed my daughter when she was getting off the bus, making her trip! they were both cussing! , I need a valium! help me dear Lord!

I didnt exercise before. The only thing I did was eat everything I could- Not that I suggest you do that. The main thing to do would be to drink extra fluids. I didnt but It will be a help. Dont be so worried. And ask me anything you need too. LaDonna -22

I exercised minimally. I have to be careful due to my fibromyalgia...one step too many and I pay for it. So I walked A LITTLE, but not a lot. I'm still 'there' with my treadmill...I want to walk and walk and walk but just can't get there yet. I HAVE to build some stamina... The ONE thing I did which I'm glad I did was 'free weights' to build up arm strength. I kept 6-pound free weights on the floor by my couch and I'd 'pump' 'em while watching TV (and I'm tellin' ya, those bad boys are STILL heavy to me!). A friend of mine who had WLS told me to do this, as her Dr. had suggested it to her and another friend of hers who had the same Dr. She said it'd help getting out of bed immediately post-op. It worked. Once that one WISE nurse showed me how to swing my legs over the side of the bed and then PUSH OFF from the siderails, I had NO pain at all getting out of that hospital bed, which is probably why I walked so much while at the hospital: I was no longer scared of the pain from trying to get out of bed the wrong way at first. So I must say THAT paid off. Haven't used 'em in a few weeks, but I'm thinking I should get back to them so that when I lose some arm weight, my arms will be more toned than those hellacious 'bat wings' that many get. We'll have to see what happens, but the free-weights were the one thing I did 'religiously'. Kimmer Queen of the Niners, Instigator to All Marchers, High Priestess of Giggles
