how long before the pain and bloating disappear

I am wondering how long it took for the stomach bloating and the pain to subside? at this present time I cannot sit long and since I work at a desk and computer all day I am wondering how long it will take me to go back to work. anyone have any suggestions? thanks..... Lisa

I didn't have lap band, but I am planning on 2 weeks off and then doing some half days....

Hi Lisa, I didn't have the Lap Band either, but most of the pain I felt was from the gas they have to fill your body cavity with in order to work. I arrived home on a Friday and by Sunday it was significantly better. These are going to be three or four of the most uncomfy days of your life, but it does get better! I would go easy on returning to work, even if you do sit at a desk. It's best to return part-time if you can, until you can beat the afternoon fatigue that often sets in. Go slow and baby yourself. You'll be glad you did. There are a lot of injuries that can happen post-op which can sideline you for far longer than if you just take it easy now and take the recuperating time you need. -Eve
