24 hours until surgery.

I go into surgery at 12 noon. I'm not excited or nervous yet that will come on the ride to the hospital tommorow. Right now I'm just trying to get through the day with out eating anything. In fact it is 12 noon right now so only 24 hours until actual surgery, ok now I'm nervous...... I want to thank everyone *****sponded to my first post. I have printed up your responses and am taking them to the hospital to re-read for encouragement after the surgery. I don't have an angel so if anyone is interested in keeping up with my recovery I will be at University Hospital in Denver, CO. Soooo here goes nothing. Leslie Peterson

hey there leslie! My surgery is tomorrow too! At 2pm..i thought i would be totally freaked out. I have never had surgery before so I thought I would be really upset but so far so good. Like you I will probably be upset tomorrow on way to hospital. I hope all goes well for you and I will pray for you tonight. Please do the same for me! I am starving too. But my doc said I could eat breakfast lunch and a small dinner. Then I have to take milk of magnesia at 6. All I have eaten so far is a little thing of jello. And then I am having some chicken noodle soup at 4:30.....then it is bye bye food for awhile. The thought of that scares me a little bit ackk. OK good luck and I will be thinking about you! Hi Leslie, You will be fine. My surgery was at noon last Monday. We left home about 7:30 a.m. and I was perfectly calm in the car on the way and calm in pre op, and I guess I was calm during surgery ( I don't know for sure, I slept through it! ) I am not sure why you are not eating, but please if you can, try to keep the fluids going. That will help your veins when they go to do the IV's and stuff tomorrow. Hugs, Mo doin' a happier happy Mo dance today

Thanks for the encouragement! I should have mentioned in the orginal post that I have to do an all clear liquids diet the day before surgery and then the bowel prep tonight..Dr's orders that is why I am hungry and not eating. Kimberly girl....good luck tomorrow too, I will keep you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery and quick recovery

Hey Leslie! I have surgery tomorrow too at 10AM. AND YES! I AM STARVING! I have ran out of creative ideas for clear liquids. And I have been sipping on my fiber laxative since 4pm. I just do not know what to have next! LOL with me! Anyway, good luck to you guys tomorrow! I will say a little prayer for you too before they put the mask on me.
