Mine looks like baby poop, a bright yellow and pastey. Since I am on soft foods that have consisted of eggs and mashed potatoes and cheese, I account that for my above description. However, I know have a little hemorid problem to go with this. I think I preferred the dirrahea.
By the way, it is "smelly" to and OUST is great.
My first BM happened 5 days out and was really dark, like I'd been taking iron pills. Now it's that wonderful bright yellow and oh so smelly. I think the color is due to the fat. Pre-op whenever I ate something fatty (had gallbladder out in 92) it was the same color and consistancy..... having a ball with it now!

OH CONNIE! I can't believe it - you are so hilarious! I was just going to post the SAME EXACT thing! I have the same types of bm's. I was reasoning through it and figured since the old stomach is still getting bile from the liver and excreting it to the colon, yet our food intake is so little, it comes out more bile colored than anything.

So glad you brought this up I was going to post on this topic.
Mine were black the first days post op then turned yellow and stinky.
But I am now concerned. Since I was diagnosed with acuate pancreatitis I have had pure water diarrhea. Even after coming home from hospital this week and taking diarrhea meds four times a day--I still have the runs.
I've had a few accidents too.
WARNING: If it feels like gas it might no be- get to the bathroom!
I'll ask my surgeon about it next week appointment.
