Nothing likes to stay down

I had my WLS on 3-15-04. I did very well with the liquid stage for the first week. I ate the sugar free jello(added splenda and it tastes great) and chicken broth, and lots of water. Then i was allowed to move to protiens. They don't stay down so well. I stick to the 1/4 cup rule, but after a few bites i get sick. I have bought protien powder and mix it wil sugar free pudding, and that seems to stay down, but if i eat real food it comes up. I track everything i eat with Fitday.com and i am getting around 300 calories per day. I know i should feel happy that i am not eating much, and hoping the lbs will fly off faster, but i really don't feel like it. I have lost around 30 lbs. I keep reading profiles and see that this is good, but i can't help but feel down about it all. I know i will feel different in a few months.

Tanya. I added protein and soft foods last week. I do not upchuck sometimes but I get that sick feeling in my stomach. I have to lay down. I think our bodies are still trying to adjust to everything. It is worse with the protien drinks. But I found that low carb solutions Milk seems to do better than any other protein at this point. So just take it easy and keep trying to get your protein. You could also call your dietician at the Doctors office and see what she suggest.

You are still healing on the inside. You probably still have swelling. I know I did until about 4 weeks. It will get better. Keep trying with the protein. Joy -29 lbs
