Hi All Today was my colonoscopy & without being too graphic here, needless to say I am cleaned out!! Well, if I had known that all it took to change eating habits was to get cleaned out & go on liquids I would have done it a long time ago. Today all I have eaten is 2 small pieces of toast About 4 hours later I cooked a hamburger & could only eat 1/2 of it. It seems that whatever I did yesterday has put my pouch back to the early days. I also just ate a cookie & now am dumping on it. So 2 1/2 + years out & everything still works. GO FIGURE. It only took a colonoscopy procedure to get it all working again. I don't understand it, but, hope it stays around. Just maybe I can get the extra 20 pounds & then some more off & really see my goal weight appear. That would be a great Christmas present for me!! BTW Doc only found a small pollup today & no other problems were found & that was removed. He aslo put me on high fiber diet, so have to change what I have been eating & add those veggies back in. ( I kind of gave them up) So back to chicken & brocoli & NO SUGAR. Marilyn, the BEarlady

Hi Marilyn; I'm glad everything went well. I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy in early December. This one will be my third, so I guess that makes me a veteran. Doctors recommend this procedure for anyone over 50, but since my Dad died of colon cancer many years ago, my Doc started me on them in my 40's. The procedure itself is no big deal, but I hate the preparation. Flushing out the system is no fun!!! Mike

Hi Mike. I hope yours goes well, too!! Better to be safe than sorry with the ugly stuff running in the family. Your right the procedure was nothing. The night before was not fun!! The only bad part was waiting 2 hours at the hospital (out Patient) as they were running behind. (no Pun intended) After that I was actually done & on my way home in about 40 minutes. It was the waiting to get it done that took so long. Marilyn, the Bearlady

Marilyn, Glad everything turned out OK for you. I do find that if I eat light for a few days, my tummy seems to shrink for a little while. Take advantage of your new honeymoon period. Of course I have a colonoscopy story, but I'm in the middle of a dumping episode so I'll share it another time. Connie

Marilyn, Glad to hear everything is in working order I bet you feel much better. Boy I could really say a few things about this subject. I swear I can't remember the last time I was "normal" when going. Even when I eat more fiber I still dont seem "right" Not to be gross... but...its like...uh...i hate to type this but...its like my bowels are too tight or something... ok so enough of that Elizabeth M

Did you know the extra iron should help your system if you are going too much? Did you also know that you can take pills as a prep for the night before a colonoscopy? I did that the last time. They look like horse pills so I broke them into 4ths. There are 30 pills you have to take...so I took 120. It did make my "pouch" feel full but what else was there in there? Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!! That was better for me than that liquid awful tasting stuff that really made me sick. So ask your doctore when you need a prep......for the night before.
