I'm very much a "newbie" and only found this site just after I had my surgery. Do wish I had found it before - as it would have been a huge help after my hubby had his done (11/02). Nice to meet everyone!

I am also a newbie that found this community after my surgery. I have been coming to it about everyday since. I have learned many things from your posts. I tend to be a lurker and not post often. It's amazing how you can sense personalities simply by reading messages. I find each of you to all be caring and sensitive.

Joy and others: I'd like to think that eight or ten years down the road we're all still here, "skinny as rails", and encouraging each other. Comers, goers, lurkers, trouble-makers, venters, board-police, and others will always be a part of any public board -- we'll just take it in stride and be better people because of it all. My family, friends, and co-workers are now used to me prefacing a lot of sentances with, "This Obesity.com message board I go to online . . . . ."
