A little levity especially for slow losers like me.
I was on a diet regime 3 years ago when I wrote this poem. It was on Cyberdiet.com and we had a lovely supportive message board. I wrote this when several of us reached a plateau or even found pounds that we thought we had lost.
I lost 70 pounds with the help of that group but unfortunately put it all back on.
Hope you enjoy it.

"Ode about a Fat Fairy"
Have you worked real hard at losing?
Have you eaten as you should?
Then gotten up, upon the scale
And there in wonder stood.
Did you see the numbers increase
When you thought they would go down.
Did you try taking off your jewelry
And even your nightgown!
Or maybe you tried leaning,
To the left, or to the right?
You just knew you had to fix this
'Cause you were in an awful plight.
You can take heart my dear friend.
Don't give up and don't despair.
You can even go ahead,
And put back on your underwear.
Those pounds aren't all yours, Don't you know?
They were left by the Fat Fairy. She told me so.
She's a little rebel fairy,
I don't even know her name.
And instead of taking pounds away
She plays her awful game.
Every night she collects all the pounds, as she must.
Two from a tushy and one from a bust.
Fat to fairy dust is what she's to do
but she's bad and she's evil
all through and through.
She delivers all those pounds to me and to you.
She's a rebel, a renegade
She flies around like a bird.
Her behavior for a fairy is really quite absurd.
So don't cry and don't worry
you're doing quite well.
And we'll just have to send her to
