I gained 1.5 and got stuck. Have not lost in three days. I confess I have grazed a bit. I'm so weak that I've been eating a bit of fruit inbetween meals. Hoping for some energy. Nothing high calorie- pinapple, watermelon and honeydew. A few bites can't stop me from loosing --can it?? Think I need to drink more. 64 oz is A LOT OF DRINKING!!!! Before WLS I loved water now I hate it unless it has lemon. I know I need more becasue I don't have to pee when I wake up! I vote we call watermelon a drink--sounds right to me. Robin 247/211/130

Robin, Don't get discouraged. That is totally normal. Are you getting in enough protein? Protein seems to keep my energy level up and it keeps me from having the munchies. I am with you on the watermelon!! You have my vote! RNY - 03/01/04 (285)258/216/130 -42 Pounds Since Surgery

Water melon and pineapple both have quite a bit of sugar. They may be causing the grazing cravings. But then your stall may be just a natural part of this journey. I've been bouncing around 30-32 lbs loss for a week and a half now. The loss will start up again when our bodies are ready. Try to get in the protein and water. That will help speed things along. Hi Robin -- I was stuck for 2 weeks...and I amazed myself with how I reviewed what I ate. I was occassionally eating 600 - 650 calories a day and I thought - OMG that's why I'm not losing! HELLO I said to Self (that's what I call myself when I'm having a serious internal mental discussion) -- 600-650 calories used to be a whole meal and I'd do that 3 times a day -- and didn't gain. So why in the heck would I question whether or not that made a difference. Self replied "yuh huh -- so why is the scale stuck". I realized this was a futile discussion -- both parties are so darn stubborn, so I called my nutritionist. There are two ways to break a plateau in her opinion (backed by 15 years of experience) and that is to increase water intake and increase exercise. Sure nuf -- I upped that liquid to 72 ounces a day (veryyyy hard for me to do) and increased exercise and two days later the plateau broke. Its still slow going now, but as long as the weight comes off - fast or slow -- I'm a happy campter. Patience, young grasshopper, will be your best friend Love - Lissa

protein protein protein - preferrably drinks - I have gained and gotten stuck myself and as soon as I drank my protein drinks usually fruit punch protein ice and blue rassberry protein ice I started to loose again. I just cut down on the food a bit and got in my protein drinks and water and vitamins and started to loose again. I know I will be stuck soon again because I am on these dumb steriods from hurting my back (sciatica) and will retain water... thats another thing though... water retention... I had not lost for like a week then I had a "flushing" of my system and started to loose again. Its all a cycle the body is going through to try to adjust to things. You'll start loosing again dont worry Chin up! Best Wishes Elizabeth M Down 42lbs
