Stuck at 290
Hi All
I had my surgury on 03/26/04. Had the RNY & have had very little discomfort or problems. Thats the good news!
My doctor had me do liquards the 4 days prior to surgury & then the whole week afterwards. When I weighted in 10 days later I was 20 pounds lighter & very excited at the progress.
The next week I last 5 more & was still thinging this was great. Unfortunatly this is where I've stayed for the past two weeks though. A friend of mine hit this same kind of stumbling block too & then it budged. I was just wondering if anyone else out there experienced this too. I am expecting my period in the next week so that might attribute to some of it but still I'm concerned.
I've been diligent about my 64 oz of water every day & my 60 grams of protein shakes. Those are my main objectives. I have been having no problems with getting food down too. Just having a little bit & I've been doing fine.
Any thoughts on this would be helpful.
Thanks
I think we've all been stuck at some point! I was stuck for 3 weeks with only a 13 pound loss. Talk about being depressed! I started walking the neighborhood w/ my friends and that seemed to help get the scale going again. I didn't walk last week because my period came with a vengance, but I'm hoping to jump on the treadmill or hit the streets (or the gym) this week to keep the scale moving in the downward direction.
Hang in there - it WILL move soon!

I was stuck at 174-176 for 3 weeks!!! Today when weighed I'm 172!!!! Finally broke my 3 week thing. it's not considered a plateau until you have not lost any weight for 4 weeks!! But yesterday I went to the gym and did 2 miles on the treadmill in 40 minutes and guess what weight off!!! Im going to the gym again today so hopefully I will be 170 tomorrow!!!! You have to exercise and make sure you are getting in your water and protein!!

Ellen,
I am part of your club...the stuck at 290 club!! I had surgery on 3/25/2004, hit 290 and stopped...I checked the scale (hoping it was broken!! Ha, Ha) but it is working just fine. From what I've heard, weeks 4 through 6 are weeks of adjustment for our bodies and the weight loss will slow down. On the upside, when was the last time you lost 25 lbs. in 4 weeks. Don't worry, soon we will be members of the 280 Club!!
Keep me posted...

Hi Sierra,
Funny that we both got stuck on the same number!! lol I got three responses & they all mentioned the dreaded E word. Yesterday was nice here in NY & I spent about 1 1/2 hours raking leaves so I hope that will help. It's good to hear I'm not alone at least.
Thanks for your response.
Ellen
PS where the heck is Flower Mound, TX??? I've never heard of it.
Hi Ellen,
Flower Mound is located Northwest of Dallas. It's a great community with good schools and it's away from the hustle of the city. The funny part is there is a huge flower mound fenced off in the middle of the city. It's probably 2 acres by 2 acres. I think it was a sacred Indian burial ground. We moved here from Atlanta, but I'm originally from Ohio. Where are you in NY??
Sierra
