It IS the Carbs!

On a previous post Va pointed out I was eating too many carbs (thanks Virginia) and then I analyzed my diet. I lost 25 lbs the first month and only 13 the second. What changed from month 1 to 2? I started eating CARBS! I was so sick I really didn't care what I ate --if it went down I felt successful so I was eating crackers and pita bread and potatoes (comfort foods?) Saltines and mashed potatoes always made me feel better when I had morning sickness so I started eating them for nauseous. My daughter and I now weigh the same. She has not had WLS but began South Beach diet last week. She lost 10 lbs already. We're swapping high protein low carb recipes. I'm determined to eat little no carbs starting today. I'll let you know how it goes. Robin 247/209/130

Hey Robin - Please share some good no/low carb recipes if you run across something tasty! I'm trying to really limit my carb intake and up my protein. Carbs are SO bad (but yet, so good!). Sugar is my downfall - as I sit here sipping on my coffee w/ Hazelnut creamer! Hang in there!! -Wendy

Wendy - I have some recipes on my website www.javajabbers.com and there are some FABULOUS ones here: http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/. Mine are older Atkins dishes that may have easier substitutes for now. There are a lot of bake mixes and ready made low-carb breads out there now in every grocery store, so some of my recipes are probably too much to bother with (like the pancakes and syrup recipe). As for that Hazelnut creamer, International Delights makes a low-carb Hazelnut and Low carb French Vanilla creamer. Dina
