I'm 3-1/2 weeks post-op (open ryn) and I have not dumped once. I even ate a few jelly beans. I know that was crazy, but I did it. Latley I can only eat fresh veggies and fruits. Mainly fruits. Protein makes me sick feeling, no matter what it is.

Sugar doesn't make everyone dump. For some it will be high fat. But when it happens, you will know, and you will never want to repeat it. It makes it really easy to stay away from the offending food. For me its carrots - CARROTS ARE EVIL!! I'm afraid of dumping so much that I would never try a jelly bean - also afraid of it causing a blockage. Did try some Welch's white grape peach juice - full strength, and was "holding my breath" thinking I would dump. Didn't, but sipped it very slowly. Every so often I just need that taste, and a little goes a long way now! mgm

I'm 6 weeks and I haven't dumped yet. It will probably come with more variety that I will add to the diet. I was told that we can eat up to about 20 gms of sugar at one time and not dump=--but I don't wanna test that theory. So, a few beans probably didn't hurt you. I can't eat rich food anymore...it makes me soooo sick. I love the fresh stuff now.

So far it seems that I don't dump either. I am very upset about this and I hope it still shows up later. My husband accidently gave me six ounces of regular chocolate milk instead of my carb countdown chocolate milk and I almost fainted when I realized it. But I didn't dump and it was FULL of sugar! that's so funny I was thinking the same question. I'm 7 weeks post-op and have not dumped. I don't even really know what it is. And I know i have had more then 3 oz and have ate sugar and rich fat foods. Does everyone HAVE to dump? Stacey -41

I dump on eggs. The first time I tried them, they were ok. The 2nd time I got really sick but I thought it was the light mayo that did it, not the eggs. Then I had a single fried egg and got really sick again. Last night I dumped on meatloaf (Hormel store bought). It didn't list eggs in the ingredients, so I have no clue what that was about.
