Hard Time Swallowing SOMETIMES
Please let me know if you have experienced this.
My surgery was March 1. For the first 5 weeks or so I could swallow anything within reason with no problem including my vitamins.
Now, every few days I have difficulty swallowing various things. Vitamins sometimes, food sometimes, and even water sometimes.
Once I spit up the slimey clear stuff (mucus?) it passes and life is normal for a few days again.
I am assuming this is just "part of the process" so I haven't worried too much about this.
It is by no means painful. Just annoying. It only happens a few times a week so I don't think it is a stricture or anything.
Any ideas? Does this just pass?

Carla,
I have had the same thing off and on for about 2 weeks. I was told by my Dr. that it is what is called "frothing" and it comes from mucus in the pouch and that in time it will clear up. one day I was driving with my kids in the car, running late so we had to keep going, and had to keep spitting in a cup like some old guy with chewing tobacco. Now let me tell you , they loved that too. I have not found any rhyme or reason as to what makes it better or worse, it is one of those things that I never know. If it continues maybe you should check with your own Dr though.
