Drink lots of water and other fluids. Dehydration causes bad breath. You can also tell if you need more fluids by checking your urine - it should be pale yellow and almost odorless. If it is a strong yellow then you can be sure that you need more fluids and that your halitosis is caused by dehydration. Louise

Vanessa, Cant you smell mine from there? Yes I have had the "rotten" breath. I have read it is from ketosis, which occurs from the decrease in carbs you are taking in. (Dina Dinkadoo posted about this a week or so back) Everything I try doesnt cover the smell or remove the taste in my mouth for more than a few minutes. The best thing I did find was when I swished with Lemon juice. If you find anything that works please post and let us all know.

It is ketosis. The only thing that will kill it is to add some carbs to your diet. My husband even commented. Yuck. Good luck. (Praying for Rob.) Lee 266/228/137

Yup - it's ketobreath. Nothing really kills it, but like I said a cracker here and there can kill it for a short time. If you keep drinking something....esp if it is like Crystal Light or something it can help keep it at bay a little. Many Atkins dieters keep those breath strips with them... Dina

Count me in with the stinko breath. I know it's the ketosis, so, either I have rank breath or I stay fat.

It may be ketosis, but I know I have some sour stomach breath that is not that. Zinc supplements seem to help. Joy
