Tooting my own horn...
OK - I hate exercise....with a passion.
I don't like to get sweaty and dirty. However, my best friend (who is 4'11 and weighs about 98 lbs. soaking wet) somehow talked me into going to Jazzercise with her today. So, I got up at 7:30, got dressed, dragged myself to the 8:15 class and.....LOVED IT!! I sweated my ass off (well, almost!). I was so surprised that I was able to keep up with all the other ladies there (NONE of them are the least bit overweight!). The instructor and some of the ladies came up to me after class and could not believe that it was my first class. That made me feel so good. I signed up for a month, so I'm hoping this will kick start some significant weight loss for me, as I've only lost 20 since surgery 7 weeks ago.
I'm just so proud of myself for going. I wanted to let you guys know so I can be accountable for continuing to go. I'll report back to you in a month to let you know how I've done.
Thanks for all your support! I'm so glad I have you guys here to fall back on during good and bad times. Y'all are the best and I love and pray for you every day.
Bless you all!

Wendy this is wonderful!
keep up the Good work, you will see in time it will get easier to get motivated as the days pass, I never liked to walk and hated to even walk from the car to the Grocery store, but now I have gotten myself into a routine and enjoy walking, Now when I go shopping I am even parking the car farther away...Best of Luck to you!
and remember it's not important how much you lose or how fast you lose it, everyone's body is different and That is 20 pounds you will never see again! God Bless you! Mary

Wendy - CONGRATULATIONS girl! You are doing wonderful. I'm like you and hate exercise. I hurt so bad and have this stabbing burning stinging nerve in my leg that I just find myself avoiding as much as possible. I get my exercise by going shopping and walking around. That way I can lean on a cart when the leg starts acting up. The only thing that will take the pain away is to sit down, so I'm kinda scwewed until I get more weight off the nerves!

Wendy,
That is fantastic. I am so proud of you! The hardest part of excercise is starting to go, after a while it gets easier. I am one of the weird ones who loves to excercise, but I have been having a hard time getting off my big butt. You are a fantastic motivator, I think I will go get on my treadmill.
Thanks,
Leslie
You know - I'm about as coordinated as a 1 yr old, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I didn't think I was ready (physically speaking), but I've just been in the best mood today - and that in and of itself is a miraculous thing. I've been a bear (was looking for another "b" word, but bear will do) lately and I know it's because I've been feeling kinda sorry for myself since the surgery. I just decided that I have to start moving my big butt sometime, so it might as well be now. I'm so glad I went. I was able to keep up with the cardio part, but when it came to the floor workout where you work on your abs - forget about it! I pretty much just laid there and did an occasional crunch! I kicked butt on the arm exercises - guess having a 27 pound baby around the house pays off in some ways!
I hope you get to the point where you are comfortable going. Just go and observe a class - you may find that you can dance circles around some of those young 'uns!
Take care, you!

Wouldn't it be great if we did live closer? We'll have to get together one of these days for sure!!!
Good luck on your 6 week check up w/ Dr. H. I can't believe it's been 6 weeks already - where does the time go?!?
Hope you're doing well. Enjoy that pool - the weather is wonderful for a day of tanning!!!!
Take care!
Wendy
