Bad Head Cold
Marla, I am just getting over a nasty head cold. I suffered for 3 days taking only tylenol, and then I thought to heck with that I need something else, so i tried sudafed along with the tylenol. the runny nose dried up and was much better, it still has lasted over a week, but the sudafed made it bearable. No problems with the medicien at all. I had to take my son to the Dr, and asked if that was alright for me to take, and they said it was fine. Dont suffer too long, you'll just get a sinus infection. I have done that before too!!! HTH Janelle
Thanks for all your suggestions. I called the doc at 9 this morning, and he is still in surgery - running late - so I won't hear back from him until at least 2pm. Of the suggestions you've all given me, I only have sudafed in the house, so I'm gonna try that for now. Kleenex stock will be going up at the rate I'm going through them!!
Thanks!!

I finally relented and took some Sudafed...but in smaller amounts than normal. I found this Kid's formula in a chewable that is much lighter on the med and it worked great for me. I started to get a sinus infection right after that but it finally went away. I thought I was headed for antibiotics, but I fought it off pretty good. But then I suck on the zinc/echinacea/c tablets when I feel one coming on, so I think that might be why it didn't last too long.

I have been so sick for the last week also. The whole head sinus stuffy crap. My eyes are even gooped together when I get up. My doc said no decongestants. I went and saw my reg Dr. and he said the same. He told me sal****er nose drops and gargle. I feel like crap. I want a huge dose of nyquil and my blankey.
Hope you feel better soon.

Guys...I've been reading a lot of repplies of people who think they cannot take any medicine. I'm not sure what your doctors' have told you but my doc said I can take anything as long as it's not too big of a pill...there are no restrictions. Of course I look to see if there's lots of sugar in a syrup...just use some common sense. You don't have to suffer with small illnesses...hope this helps,
