question
i'm about 1 1/2 months post-op now...-40 pounds at my last appointment. things are going great but i do have one concern. about how much water should i be able to consume at this stage? i can drink about 6 ounces with no problem. i know it's only water but should that much be able to fit? when it comes to food i can only eat about 3-4 and i have no problem with that.
i just had this crazy idea that being able to drink more water would make my pouch bigger than i want it. maybe i worry too much.

I can guzzle water at just over 2 months out. I was concerned about it too and asked my surgeon. He said it is just fine to be able to consume large quantities of liquids because they just flow through the tummy. He said if I feel achy or full to stop drinking for a bit, but other than that -- guzzle away!
When I say guzzle -- I mean Guzzle lol. For instance, this morning I woke up at 5:30 am and by 7 I had drank a 24 ounce sports bottle of water. But I know my pouch isn't big...I also ate about a 1/3 of a bagel with cream cheese not too long ago and I'm very full. So lord knows that my pouch isn't enormous...its just the flow of the water.
Hope that helps ease your mind!

Uggghhh...today was my first bagel and I wanted it soooo badly. So I toasted it very well and put cream cheese on it. HA! Its not as bad as when I first tried bread...but I have that "got myself a lump in my tummy" sort of feeling. Doesn't hurt...just sorta sits there. If I eat another anytime soon, it will be only about a 1/5 or a 1/4 of a bagel at best.
It did truly satisfy my want of bread though.
