How much Protein is enough ????
There actually is a calculation you can do based on your weight. But darn if I can remember it. I will look it up and let you know. When I was at 290 they told me the minimum I should be getting in was 58. I was stuck on a plateau for 18 days (I think I have mentioned that about a thousand times around here
) anyways I upped my protein to 80 grams a day sometimes a little more but no less than 70 grams and I broke my plateau and lost 5 pounds recently. So my experience is...for good weight loss 80 grams a day
(just my experience) Best wishes to you and I will try to find that calculation for ya!

Hi Amy,
I think that is something that will vary also from doctor to doctor. My doctor insists on 80 to 100 grams of SUPPLEMENTAL protein in addition to whatever protein I get from my food. I try to get 50 to 60 grams of protein from food, but I am not always successful with that.
I had started extra protein before surgery and have kept up with the supplemental protein and I really think it helped with my healing and has helped (so far at least) with my hair staying healthy and so far not thinning.
Hugs,
Mo
My Dr. says 60-80 but I find it impossible!
http://www.unjury.com/reg/calculator.shtml is were to find the protein needs calculator it states there I only need 50g.....which is still hard but I'm working on it!
