Rob update for Tuesday

Hi everyone, Kat here with an eye witness report on Rob. I spent the afternoon with him today. BIG NEWS: They got him out of bed and sat him in a chair! This happened before I got there so I didn't get to see it. MORE BIG NEWS: His temperature was normal! His tracheotomy went very well. They continue to wean him off the ventilator. In a few days his throat will heal and then he can talk to us. The best part of the day was when I told him tomorrow was my birthday. He mouthed the words: "happy birthday." Best present I could ask for! He is still loopy from the drugs they have given him for so long. They are weaning him off those now too. And, back to the original reason for all this: he has lost 50 pounds. He has cheekbones in his face! All in all a very good day with good news all around. What a wonderful birthday present. Kat

Thank you for the wonderfully hopeful news. I can't tell you how much I apreciate your updates. I hope you enjoy your birthday. You certainly need some fun after all the stress. Good news about Rob's weight loss as well. As usual Kat - our prayer group is still praying for a complete recovery and soon. Louise
