Hi guys, Trying my best not to get discouraged but the dissapointment is slowly sinking in today. I have lost 5 pounds in the last MONTH. thats nothing. I mean any loss is good of course and thats 5 pounds gone forever which is wonderful. But I mean its actually been 5 pounds in one month and one week. Not quite one pound a week. 'sigh' well I was on a plateau for almost 3 weeks. I guess I'm just frustrated over the whole delay and now I am at a delay again. I lost five pounds over mothers day weekend (5 pounds down from the 6th to the 10th). Which is great but it hasnt buged. I had upped my protein and cut out my junk food. I had one...just one day where I had 5 doritos & tried ginger ale but that was it. Cut out junk food completely and have been eating sooo healthy and getting in that protein! Got my protein bars for snack time and scheduling my eating and loggin down my stuff and even exercising finally! Nothing too strenuous just walking. But still stuck. Maybe I should up my protein some more? Im getting about 75-80 grams a day. The nutritionist said around 58 was my minimum amount. Just feeling down I guess. Elizabeth M 334/285/128

I'm no expert but if your protein bars have sugar alcohols, they sometimes stall people. Are you getting your water? Are you eating ENOUGH?

'sigh' yeah. I have been drinking my water and havent had very many protein bars. Usually one a day every other day for snack time. They were all pretty low in the sugar alchohols and such but high in protein. I try to be real careful of that and the fat and calories in those bars can be terrible! Mostly my snacks consist of cheese or chicken cubes or something proteiny - low carb yogurt you know that type of stuff. The usual. Yeah I definitely get enough to eat. I have to be real careful of that as well since I can tolerate everything and fit alot in. I eat my veggies and my beans and cheese and shrimp and tuna and stuff like that. I dont know what the deal is. I do notice that it feels like my tummy drains right away. As soon as I eat it starts to gurgle like its emptying.......but even with that I am not Over eating you know. I guess my body is just adjusting and doing its own thing. Hopefully It will come off soon. Maybe I will up my water intake too. Maybe I am retaining water because I did munch on pumpkin seeds. Gives a little more protein but it does have alot of salt. hmmm.... Elizabeth M 334/285/128

Check you inches too.. Whenever my weight isn't moving, my inches are. I'd prefer to lose inches, they mean so much more than the number on the scale.

Truly understand where you are coming from. I am 9 weeks out and have only lost 26 pounds. Moving along at a snails pace..............

We had surgery same day and I am only 28.5...and actually we are in the proper "range" it was just I had hoped for about 40. But the way I am seeing it now, is that in a YEAR we will be down 60+ and won't care about it then.

Elizabeth, the same thing just happened to me and I am in a funk over it too. Only 4.5 lbs for a month on the doctor's scale...it was more like 8 on mine in the morning, but still not what I expected. I had a long talk with the nurse and I am eating too much I guess because I have had such an easy time of it with only one problem in 9 weeks. Also I am going to really try the exercise routine now...and see if that won't do the trick. Just wanted you to know you are not alone.

I am sad to read all of your posts because I know how you are feeling. It's good that we have each other to share our thoughts with, especially when we're down. Try to remember that this is a process and will take time. Try to enjoy the feelings and sensations created in your body with the weight you've already lost and know that it will come off, truly, for all of us. In the meantime and throughout, we're all here for each other. God bless and be well. Maureen
