Super upset
Well I had a decent first two months post op I went from 250# to 190#. For some reason I decided to weigh myself today and I'm back up to 200#. Still according to the weight loss planner I'm still ahead of what I'm supppose to have lost but still. I'm super frusterated and upset with this weight gain. I'm not going to lie I did get back into drink diet soda and having candy like lifesavers. I'm not looking for piety since I know I did this to myself. I'm just venting.
Beth Beth Beth I have an idea I have been drinking a protein called pro-complex it is very good it taste like a shake if you add lots of ice I mix it with water because milk makes it to heavy for me . It is 55 grams of protein and I drink it for breakfast I am always full never get hungry, Here is an sample of my day.
Breakfast 1 pro-complex
10:00am 22 oz. of water
Lunch a slice of cheese and 3 sm. wedges of water melon
1:00 Pm 22 oz. of water
3:00pm sf popsicle 22 oz. water
5:00 pm a slice of meat about 1 or 2 oz.
7:00 pm 1 pro-complex drink
7:30 pm 20 oz. of water
For snacks I eat if I get a little hungry
3 or 5 pork rhines
1/4 cup peanuts/cashews
If you want diet pop diet seven up with cherry suryp from the store added and a lime slice squeesed in makes a good cherry limeaide this should only be a once a week treat. Other diet pop If you must drink it ween yourself by adding a bit of water the first day more water the next till you are drinking half and half and your weight should not creep up on you so fast. Try these tricks and it will work the prtein just seems to keep me satisfied but you must buy a good prtein to do it.. E-mail me any time. I had surgery March 11 2004 and I am down 47 pounds 3 months out and have been agerageing a loss of a pound a day. haven't gained any back except for 1 when I am building mucel. I do a lot of exercising waist bends aand stomache bends to flatten stomache and curve the waist line.... Sarah T
Well, at least you know what did it! So, now it is your decision--does the loss feel better than the soda and lifesavers taste?
Lest you think that I am being condescending...
I wanted a diet Dr Pepper so bad this week that I finally went and put $1 in the machine at work. It was out of Diet DP and would not give my $1 back!!! Talk about angels intervening!!!
Have a better week this week...

It could be what you had, but it could also be a monthly thing thrown in. Whatever - we are all human and we will all go "off program" sometimes. I was so afraid of what the docs said about soda that I've avoided it, but my daughter gets a sprite with her happy meal. And yes - I have had a few sips on a few occassions. I've also been getting into the tictacs. I know they are ok when you have only 1, but after lunch at work I find I sometimes have 3, 4, 5. Fortuantely I have not experienced a gain (beyond half a lb or so), but I do understand the frustration as I've been stuck for over 2 weeks now.
I hope next week is a better one for you!!

Beth -
Not going to give you a tongue lashing - you are doing all that yourself. You are being perceptive and upfront and because you are, you know what you have to do and I think you will do it. Perhaps these little setbacks are a good thing - they show us we aren't infallable before we get so far gone that we don't take it seriously. Probably just cutting out the candy will be enough to do the job for you.

Beth, I would definitely knock off the candy. Soda, too, probably. But definitely anything with sugar.
I have lost 49 pounds since March 12...and I'm 45 and lazy, lazy, lazy. So ya gotta knock off the sugar...and don't think I'm preaching coz I ain't. I ate three pieces of ferrero rocher (God's true gift to women) this week. BUT I know that I can't do that. So I'm gonna not buy anymore and I joined Curves yesterday.
But this surgery was such a drastic measure, we have to make hte most of our initial honeymoon. If you MUST eat candy, make it sugar free and sparingly then.
Hugs.
Hi Beth,
sorry to hear about the weight gain (could some of it be water retention?) I too have had some fresca (diet soda) I do notice the additional food craving that I know is from the soda but I have been keeping that under control. No more screwing up for me in regards to eating the wrong foods. I learned my lesson...Im sure you will too. Its very disconcerting. Try fitday.com its awesome the best log to keep things under control and shows you exactly what those extra candies and such do. Boost up the protein and nix the candies and you should be ready to go
Best wishes!!!

Congrats on the great loss so far!!!!
