I went too the doctors for my endoscopes he said I have ulcers he gave me Nexium, he said around the 5th or 6th week people start to have problems like this, But my pain is about 4 to 5 inches above my belly button. It starts to hurt and then it gets really sore. To where I can't bend. When I try to exercise it starts to hurt, also when I walk. Has anyone experienced this before? I had open surgery on the 30th of march could this be something else. I still have my gallbladder

Mary, I know just how you feel. We discoverd that I have an ulcer in my pouch about 5 days ago. My pouch also seems to be over producing acid so it is irritating the ulcer even more. Dr. put me on pepcid for the ulcer and mylanta for the acid. Seems to be getting better. Good luck with yours, Leslie

My doc said it's a common problem after this surgery. Because of that, he puts all his patients on Nexium from the 1st day home from the hospital, and he said it will be for life. Hope you are feeling better soon! mgm

Dina, It's not ulcers for life, it's the Nexium for life, so ulcers don't start. In my mind, taking that little pill is a small price to pay for a lifetime free of ulcer worries!! mgm
