Is this normal?
Well, I can eat more than that by a long shot! Cottage cheese is 8 oz, but thick oatmeal is 6 oz. yogurt is an easy 8 oz and probably more if I didn't just have an 8 oz container and all the other stuff goes through so easily I'm sure it would not be a problem either.
From what I can tell that is absolutely normal to be able to eat 4 oz of those foods at this point.

Sharon, I had my surgery on 3/24/04. Depending on what I'm eating, I can eat more than 4 ozs. For instance, soup...I can eat about 3/4 of the can. Anything liquidy I can tolerate more. Even today, I find that the more solid the food, the less I can eat. I can eat an entire 8 oz. yogurt, but I can only eat about 2 ozs. of meat. I belong to two support groups and I find that everyone is different. There are people eating way more than me and others less than me. I think as long as you feel comfortable, you should be okay.
