I am 2 months post-op as of May 23,2004 and I can eat 4oz. I have tried this with cottage cheese, low carb yogurt, applesauce and jello-o.

I think you're lucky. I can eat a lot more. I can have 3 oz. fish, plus rice and veggies--it probably equals a 1 1/2 C of food. Louise

Well, I can eat more than that by a long shot! Cottage cheese is 8 oz, but thick oatmeal is 6 oz. yogurt is an easy 8 oz and probably more if I didn't just have an 8 oz container and all the other stuff goes through so easily I'm sure it would not be a problem either. From what I can tell that is absolutely normal to be able to eat 4 oz of those foods at this point. Dina

Sharon, I had my surgery on 3/24/04. Depending on what I'm eating, I can eat more than 4 ozs. For instance, soup...I can eat about 3/4 of the can. Anything liquidy I can tolerate more. Even today, I find that the more solid the food, the less I can eat. I can eat an entire 8 oz. yogurt, but I can only eat about 2 ozs. of meat. I belong to two support groups and I find that everyone is different. There are people eating way more than me and others less than me. I think as long as you feel comfortable, you should be okay.

Wow! I can only eat 2 oz of anything solid or 3 oz of liquid. I thought that was normal. I see my doc tommorrow and my dietician, I guess they will let me know if I am ok.

My nutritionist and Dr. told me several weeks ago that I should be eating between 2-4oz per meal but not more. They warned me to watch the liquidy things like apple sauce, yogurt, cottage cz, soup because you can accidently eat more than the 2-4 oz because it passes faster through the pouch. Leslie
